History of Rubicon Trail Foundation

The Rubicon Trail Foundation was formed in 2004. It was decided that along with FOTR, a formal foundation was needed in order to improve communications with government agencies and to start collecting monies to improve our ability to fight to hold on to our access to our public lands.

The Rubicon Trail Foundation was founded as a non-profit 501.c.3 foundation in order to fill this void in the fight to maintain the Rubicon Trail. The formalization of this foundation gives use (the Trail users) a better standing when dealing with government agencies. The non-profit status also allows that any and all donations are fully tax deductable.

The Rubicon Trail Foundation is composed of Officers and Directors. The officers include a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. The directors seats are filled as follows: 5 trail users, JJ USA, Jeep Jamboree, Cal4wheel, Placer County Supervisor, El Dorado County Supervisor, 2 manufacturers, vendor.
